Do a First Aid Course

In your lifetime, I think it’s important to learn First Aid. You never know when you could be in a situation where someone needs help, and it would be great if in that situation we knew exactly what to do. Or if we were injuried, were able to instruct someone with what they should do.

What information would you give when phoning the ambulance, how do you treat an adult or a baby who isn’t breathing or someone who is but is unconscious. How about frost bite or heat stroke? Asthma? Broken bones or bleeding? If you attended a course you would know what to do in this situation…

Latch Hooking

Why not give latch hooking a go. It’s easy to do and there are a lot of kits available with designs to copy to make cushion covers, wall hangings or rugs. It is quite time consuming but worth it at the end as you can place it in your home for functional use, and it would look original. You could also buy the materials separately and create your own unique design to liven up your home.

Rickshaw Ride

In your lifetime you must try a rickshaw ride. It’s a great way to travel around the back streets of a country and get a glimpse of what life is like for the locals off the beaten track, where tourists do not usually travel. It could be a bumpy ride though so make sure you hold on tight to the rickshaw as well as your bag!

Design your Own Card

Be creative and design your own card, it could be for any occasion from a wedding anniversary, birthdays and Christmas to Easter to celebrations of results or driving tests.  Or it could just be a random card to tell someone you are thinking of them. You will be surprised how easy it is, you could use paints or coloured pencils, glitter and fabrics and materials, or you could event cross stitch a design and attach it to a card. The person the card is aimed for will be so happy by the effort involved.

Help In A Soup Kitchen

Often when you look back on life, things you’ve done to help other people seem poignant, so how about helping people more needier then you, people that have no warm home to go back to at the end of the day.

In some areas groups like the Salvation Army go on soup runs to help the homeless giving them warm drinks, soup and food and extra clothes so that they can keep warm. They are always grateful for more volunteers to help make the soup and to give everything out. It’s also so memorable to meet some of these people and talk to them about their experiences.

Help With Some Gardening!

There are a lot of people out there who really love their gardens. Sometimes though it gets a bit too much for them to handle and sometimes they cannot get down to the ground to do the weeding and keep the garden looking as lovely as it had once been. Sometimes these people may not have family or friends that are able to help them out, and this can be a stressful time not being able to maintain their garden.

Why not do a bit of good in your community. You could design a poster or some flyers, where people that cannot afford to pay for a gardener and are unable to do their own gardening can contact you. A few hours tidying up a garden, doing some trimming and getting rid of the weeds, mowing the lawn, could make so much difference to someone, giving them a beautiful garden that they can admire once more!

You’ll learn a lot from the waltz and quickstep to sequence and square dancing!
